Intown Atlanta bed and breakfast owner Adele Northrup hugs her housekeeper, a Mexican immigrant, after giving her a Spanish-English dictionary for Christmas. Northrup said everyone working for her should speak English. "I don't like being a stranger in my own house," she said. Northrup said her grandparents, who emigrated to the United States from Russia, "got with the program right away" and learned English.
