A new crypt, dedicated on Monday, Nov. 20, contains the remains of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott KIng, at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site on Auburn Avenue. Dr. King's body was in a smaller crypt at the same site for decades since shortly after his assassination in 1968. Mrs. King, who died in January at 78 years old, was buried in a temporary grave until the larger crypt was ready.
