A boy catches shrimp for fun in the Chiguate River. Torrential rains associated with Hurricane Stan inundated parts of Central America in early October, causing flooding, mudslides and death across western Guatemala. Contamination from mud and chemicals from upstream killed the large fish in the river, locals said, and shrimp are the only food source in it now.
